Bishop Ellis Harper Jr.

Bishop Harper is the son of Deacon Ellis Harper, Sr. and Mother Emma Harper. He is a native of Mobile and a graduate of Lillie B. Williamson High School in 1995 and a current student at University of Mobile, Mobile, AL. After turning down numerous scholarship offers to play college basketball, he accepted his call into ministry.

Bishop Harper received the Holy Ghost on December 4, 1994 under the leadership of Bishop A.L. Holmes, Sr., who is now the Prelate and Founder of the Apostolic Latter Days Christian Ministries, Inc. Bishop Harper became a faithful member and worked his way up the ranks from brother to deacon, elder and so on.

Bishop Harper received his calling from the Lord to preach in 1995, still under the leadership of Bishop Holmes. Bishop Harper served as Elder/Youth Pastor for ten years until he was promoted to Assistant Pastor and later Overseer of the ALDCM, Inc.

The Lord called him to Pastor and he established the Ark of Safety Deliverance Church ALDCM, Inc. He held his very first service at his home with just his immediate family in attendance: his parents, only sister, wife and children. As more members began to join, the Lord saw the need for a building and he provided one at 2700 First Avenue Mobile, Alabama 36617. About a year after he began to pastor, he was promoted to Bishop Elect by Bishop Holmes.

Bishop Harper established the Ark of Safety Christian Academy - which is a child learning center for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age and also an academy for grades K-2 through K-5, specializing in the A Beka Curriculum. Bishop Harper is also a licensed contractor, a home builder, swimming pool builder, and a concrete pumper.

Bishop Harper is the husband of one wife of 22 years, Minister Shantez Harper and five daughters; LaShunda, Dajha, LaErica, Ellisa, and Matealia.
